1. Introduction
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the VALIDOWL platform (“VALIDOWL”, “Platform”), a service owned and operated by URLAUNCHED LTD, a company registered under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, with its registered office at the above address (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing, registering for, or using VALIDOWL, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, as well as our Cookie Policy, which explains our use of cookies, analytics, and third-party integrations. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.
2. Purpose of the Platform
VALIDOWL is a digital listing platform designed to connect individuals (“Candidates”) with employers (“Employers”) seeking talent. The Platform allows Candidates to publish professional profiles and references. VALIDOWL does not operate as a recruitment agency and does not guarantee employment outcomes.
3. Eligibility
To use VALIDOWL, you must be at least 16 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding agreements under the laws of your country of residence.
4. Account Registration & Integrity
You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and current information when registering for an account and to update your details as needed.
4.1 Misuse Prevention
You may not:
- Create multiple accounts to bypass previous records or feedback.
- Delete and recreate an account to remove existing data.
- Impersonate others or provide false credentials.
5. User Content
Users are responsible for all content submitted to VALIDOWL, including professional information, work history, and references. By posting content, you grant us a license to use, display, and share it on the Platform in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to moderate, reject, or remove any content that violates these Terms or our Review Guidelines.
When you choose to use LinkedIn to populate your profile, you grant VALIDOWL permission to access certain professional data fields as authorized during login.
6. Account Integrity & Misuse Prevention
To preserve a reliable employment reference ecosystem:
6.1 Prohibited Actions
- Deleting accounts to evade existing references.
- Registering new accounts to obscure feedback.
- Manipulating or requesting the removal of legitimate content.6.2 Retention of Data
VALIDOWL may retain published reviews and critical profile data even after account deactivation, based on legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. This includes usage logs and metadata (such as IP addresses and session times) stored by our analytics and infrastructure partners, to support fraud prevention, debugging, and service optimization.
6.3 Violations
Breach of these rules may result in:
- Account suspension or permanent ban.
- Legal action in cases of fraud or abuse.
7. Review Moderation
All published reviews and references are moderated to ensure compliance with our standards.
Content will not be deleted solely upon request unless shown to be factually incorrect, defamatory, or in violation of law.
8. Fees
The Platform is free to use for Candidates and Employers.
9. Data Protection & GDPR Compliance
We process personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Cyprus Law 125(I)/2018. We work with trusted data processors such as AWS (hosting), Google (analytics), LinkedIn (OAuth login), and New Relic (infrastructure monitoring), all of whom are GDPR-compliant and bound by contractual data protection obligations. 10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Limassol, Cyprus.
Consumers in the EU may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform.
11. Cookies, Analytics, and Third-Party Tools
VALIDOWL uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, analyze platform usage, and provide secure integrations. These include:
- Google Analytics, Firebase, and Amplitude - to track aggregated user behavior (e.g. page views, session length, referral sources).
- New Relic - to monitor system performance and detect server issues.
- LinkedIn API - to allow candidates to create profiles using their LinkedIn data.You can manage cookie preferences through the cookie banner or your browser settings.

12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. When we do, we will notify you by updating the “Effective Date” at the top. Continued use of the Platform indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.
